Prana del Mar facilities

Prand del Mar has a total of up to 16 guest rooms and 30 beds. Our rooms are very comfortable and a bit more luxurious than the standard retreat center.

The 8 downstairs rooms offer:

either King bed with seating area or 1 King + 1 Queen bed
en suite bathroom with dual sinks, and separate shower and bathtub
patio with teak chaise lounges
ocean and garden view
located on ground floor

The 8 upstairs suites offer:

bedroom with 2 Queen beds and balcony with mountain view
combination living room/dining area
single sink bathroom with shower over bathtub
terrace with teak chaise lounges
ocean view from living/dining room and terrace
located on second floor

All guest accommodations have polished travertine floors, granite and/or travertine countertops, and custom teak furniture. All mattresses are Spring Air pillow-top, resort quality with organic sheets. Bath towels and bath mats are also organic cotton. We offer daily cleaning service for all rooms. In order to conserve water and the use of detergents, sheets and towels are washed twice per week unless otherwise requested.

Beyond the individual guest rooms and suites, we have a community building with a large dining room and lounge area with fireplace. There is a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, roof deck with another lounge area, and an organic vegetable garden. We have comfortable, custom-made teak patio furniture on the pool deck and in the garden areas along with space for horseshoes, bocce ball, and quiet relaxation or contemplation. If desired, we can offer spa services such as massages, body wraps, and therapeutic treatments.

We have two separate yoga studios, each with its own unique feel. One is 1850 square feet with views west to the ocean and east to the mountains. It is a spacious, airy room with an expansive feeling, large windows on all sides, and bamboo floors. Our second studio is smaller and more intimate at 1000 square feet. It also has a bamboo floor, skylights, and windows that look out on a small, peaceful garden. All yoga props – mats, blankets, straps, blocks, bolsters, sand bags, backless chairs, and eye pillows – are provided. Both studios have sound systems.

For optional excursions, students can explore the area by hiking, touring our beach and the area on horseback, learning to surf, taking a kayaking and snorkel trip, whale watching tours (in season), baby sea turtle releases (in season), or exploring the towns of Cabo San Lucas, Todos Santos, or San Jose. Some of these activities are nearby and some are between a half-hour and 45 minutes away.

Shower heads are aerated to provide strong water pressure at lower flow rates, toilets are low-flow, and all water is recycled and used to irrigate our gardens. We use environmentally-friendly cleaning products, recycle, and compost wherever possible in a general attempt to minimize our environmental impact to the extent that Prana Del Mar can.

If you would like to participate in other activities like surfing, horseback riding, trips to local towns, sea kayaking & snorkeling, or having a massage or spa treatment, Prana Del Mar can help organize those with outside outfitters. Some participants may want to make it a very active and adventurous trip, while others may prefer to just stroll the beach and nap in a hammock.
